Uahi Ridge

The Uahi Ridge project is a new rental community providing affordable long-term housing for 95 families in Līhuʻe, Kauai. The project is located on a vacant site in an underdeveloped area near Kukui Grove Center, the island's largest shopping mall. The project is located near the county's major employers, County and State government offices, as well as several other community serving areas. Uahi Ridge is planned to address the demand for affordable homes on Kauai.

96 apartment units will be built for residents earning 30 to 60% area median income (AMI) consisting of 48 one-bedrooms, 24 two-bedrooms (including one manager's units) and 24 three-bedroom units. Amenities include a community room, playground equipment and barbeque areas. Residents will have access to a charging station for electric vehicles and designated areas to store bicycles and surfboards.

ʻIkenākea Development has partnered with Mark Development, Inc. on this development and has received support from the County of Kauai in the form of project-based rental vouchers for a percentage of the units.  The partnership secured an allocation of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Hula Mae Multi-Family Bonds, and Rental Housing Revolving Funds from the State of Hawaii's Housing Finance and Development Corporation (HHFDC) in August 2022.  The project's second phase will contain 60 units and is pending its financing structure.
